@NoralK Hi, thanks for the report. |
Thank you for the help - here is the URL https://github.com/NoralK/TestDocs |
@NoralK I can't seem to find the related project on readthedocs. It seems that there was https://readthedocs.org/projects/noral-testdocs/ before but it was deleted. Do you still have the project on readthedocs.org that you are having problems with? I need to have a look at the build output and see the PDF results you are getting before I can invest any further. |
The project is there. I do not know if it will help but I changed it from private to protected. Last build was approx. 7 days ago. |
I think I know what is happening. RTFD has changed how many times it generates the PDF in the makefile or custom script and has cut too many, specifically the pass to incorporate the index. So if another pass was made, after the index files get created, then the index inside the PDF should show up. There should be a minimum of three passes, as I know it:
I know sphinx uses 5 passes but they do 1 and 3 twice and from what I have seen and read those are unnecessary. Hope this help and again thank you. |
RTD runs the pdflatex command twice. That was introduced with #749. However we never ran it more than this. So it seems that it didn't change. Was it already working for you at some point? However we could try running the pdflatex command three times and see if that helps. |
I've proposed the third run in #1583. |
Any update on this? |
Blocked by the decision in #1583 |
Did anyone read my comment or open a ticket with PDFlatex? You closed the ticket and yet there are still no indexes! Noral On Mon, Sep 14, 2015 at 6:51 AM, Gregor Müllegger [email protected]

@NoralK This ticket is still open, it's marked as blocked on the PR under review. There is no substantial case for running pdflatex a third time yet, so the PR remains open. |
Closing this issue due to inactivity. The project with pdf index issues doesn't exist on RTD, and the related PR to run pdflatex with 3 passes was rejected due to lack of input signifying it was necessary. If anyone has more information/background on this issue, feel free to reopen. |

The PDF index is missing. Local generation index shows RTD no index.
Let me know if you need further information.
