The documentation states that 3.1 and 3.2 can work against a ES 7 cluster using the Rest Client. This is wrong. ES 7 changes the structure of parts of the returned search results, so the client libs used in 3.1/3.2 cannot parse this answer correctly. And the ES 7 client libs do not work with SDE 3.1/3.2
