The format cargo understands is not necessarily obvious from the license name so it is good to point to a place listing the exact text.

I originally wanted to avoid recommending spdx as I'm not certain of how "official" it is in terms of being accepted among the open source community as a standard for license names. All of the short identifiers listed on opensource.org are accepted as well. I also wanted to suggest the official opensource.org recommended licenses (/licenses) over all the licenses (/licenses/alphabetical). This all may end up being somewhat confusing though... Perhaps a suggestion like: I'm not sure if mentioning spdx is overkill though... |
