AlphaData Name-Value Argument not working

AlphaData Name-Value input argument to specify transparency not working.

C = [1 2 3; 4 5 6; 7 8 9];
image(C,'AlphaData',0.5);

fig2plotly(gcf, 'offline', false);

The previous code prints the following message:

Unrecognized field name "DisplayName".
We had trouble parsing the image object.
This trace might not render properly.
