I made the mistake of picking an output directory that had stuff in it. The next time I uploaded a sketch the contents of the directory was blown away.
I did read the note about how the output directory can't be the working directory or a subfolder, but I didn't realize that it meant that everything inside the folder I specified would be blown away. I added this line to make it explicit that the folder's contents will be deleted.
