Support for the external-snapshot-metadata sidecar needs to be updated to its alpha level.
This involves:

• Updating the registry and image tag for the sidecar
• Updating the instructions in docs/example-snapshot-metadata.md

The instructions in particular need some fixes:

• The hostpath driver version of v1.16.1 is needed.
• The latest Kubernetes version should be referenced.
• The test volume needs to be primed before allocated blocks are visible.
• The snapshot-metadata-lister Pod takes time to build so one must wait for it to become Ready.
