IMDSv2 is a session-oriented method of retrieving EC2 instance metadata, as opposed to the request/response method of IMDSv1. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/configuring-instance-metadata-service.html (cherry picked from commit fba1075)
