Description of changes:

Add support for specifying a target variant parameter when invoking a SageMaker endpoint with multiple production variants.

Additional Notes: @ChuyangDeng had to revert (#1574) the changes in the previous PR (#1571) due to failing canary tests likely due to,

  • the boto3 version not being updated in setup.py to a version including this feature
  • an issue with the multi variant endpoint name creation in the integration test. The unique endpoint name creation code needed to be moved into the fixture code. This would guarantee a unique name per run, whereas having it outside the fixture as a global does not. This likely surfaces issues in parallelized runs (like in the canary).

The above issues were fixed in this PR and validated in the following fashion.

Testing done:

  • Unit Tests
