Blank lines were used inconsistently and unnecessarily in the reference example. I have attempted to decipher the intended spacing standard and apply this across the document.

This proposal establishes an official style. If accepted, I will apply it across all the reference pages, where this sort of inconsistency is widespread.

@smellai I hope you don't mind if I request a review from you on this. robsoncouto has been awesome about helping out with reviewing my pull requests, but for the formatting changes to the reference sample I think we need a decision from someone at Arduino.

You seem to be the most actively involved with this repository. If there is someone else more appropriate for me to request assistance from, please let me know.
