My understanding is that the official product name is "Arduino IDE". However, it is spelled "ARDUINO_IDE" on the splash screen (note the underscore).

I think it's very important to have a single official product name that is used consistently. If the users are seeing "ARDUINO_IDE" every time the IDE starts, then some are going to start referring to it this way.
