It really takes that long for messages to go back and forth. I don't know if there is a simpler way to reduce stdio buffering time.

This PR adds the
Discoveryhelper that greatly helps interaction with the pluggable discoveries.This PR doesn't change any code reachable from the CLI
main, so it won't break anything.
