What kind of change does this PR introduce? (Bug fix, feature, docs update, ...)
Bug fix.
What is the current behavior? (You can also link to an open issue here)
The validation will incorrectly fail in certain cases (e.g.
step: 0.01
,value: 1.16 or 20.1
), due to Floating Point Arithmetic limitations. The previous fix for FPA limitations (081d06f) tried to solve the issue by converting the numbers to integers, before doing the actual calculation, but it failed to account for cases where the conversion itself returned non-integer values (again due to FPA limitations).See also #15504.
What is the new behavior (if this is a feature change)?
The validation works correctly by ensuring that the values used in the final calculation are always integers.
Does this PR introduce a breaking change?
No.
