Docs for stable builds need better visibility #7513
Comments
+1 Putting the docs on the latest stable build sounds like it could make sense. |
I feel like anyone could probably take this on, I'm not sure this is necessarily a high priority, but it would be good to take care of this. @petebacondarwin it might be good to assign this to someone (you or matias come to mind, since in my head you two are the "docs app guys", but I dunno) |
I am not sure that the team want to have "stable" as the default. How about we put a big link above the version drop-down that lets you go straight to the latest stable? |
I think a link above the drop-down would work. I don't think it should go to stable automatically - that would hide a lot of more recent fixes, possibly causing confusion when some error in the stable docs has already been fixed. |
@floyd-may, @benjamingr, @RichardLitt, @caitp - what do you think of the change made by #7727 |
http://ci.angularjs.org/job/angular.js-pete/575/artifact/build/docs/api --- I don't have much of an opinion on this, but you guys can find it there. I'm not sure I like the way the menu and "stable" button are laid out, but I don't think it's a huge issue. |
Looks great to me; latest stable docs are one click away. |
Same. +1 |
Looks good

Sure. I'll be happy to improve the UI with a nice |
Closing in favour of #7727 |
When you go directly to https://docs.angularjs.org/api (say, from a link on angularjs.org), the docs it pulls up are for the latest unstable build. This is quite a nuisance, and punishes everyone who uses stable builds. You actually have to scroll the dropdown list to get to the stable builds.
Ideally, docs for the latest stable version would be the default, but I'd be satisfied with having latest stable docs no more than one click away without needing to scroll a dropdown list.
