JSON as HTML attribute value???

Hi Nicolas,

What do you think of getting map options from scope instead of parsing JSON string embedded into an HTML attribute? This mix of concerns tends to get pretty ugly when you have lots of options.

This was part of a previous pull request a couple months ago. Since the master branch is no longer being developed, this would have to be done in the r1-dev branch. I'm out of town for vacations so I'll have a look at this when I return.
