Hi,

I reached out to @DaftMonk via Twitter about a official site for the generator and he mentioned wanting to make one for it in the near future.

I just wanted to throw out that I'd be willing to help in a design capacity if there's any need. I'm more of a designer/front-end guy and this generator has helped me be able to create tools using the full stack and I'd love to pay it forward.

Some ideas I've been playing with are below.

(I wasn't sure where to ask a question like this, so my apologies if this is the wrong place).

Looks good. Please add a big fat prominent link to this comparison or a better one if you know one so people can make informed decisions when choosing one of these things. It's not quite responsible to make a foundational business decision based on six features when there are over 300 possible features.

@dancancro if the people behind the project decide they want me to work on something, this design would definitely go through more iterations to include what they think is important. That screenshot is just a really high-level idea really.

I really love all the work you've done around comparing the all the different generators and encouraging the community to coalesce around one by the way :)

+1, especially the "One More Thing"! ;)

I'm all for this. One suggestion: generator-angular-fullstack will be releasing a new version soon v2.1.0. You can check out the milestones slated for it here. Would you be interested in developing the frontend based on the work that's being done there?

That being said, I'm wondering if we could develop some reusable components that could be used for regenerating the site for future versions. I'd be willing to work with you on that if it ever came to fruition.

It'd be great to have help on this. Its looking good, but I would suggest more of a clean color scheme. Something along the lines of yeoman / bower / grunt: http://yeoman.io/

@DaftMonk I'll work on another iteration with a different color scheme. Once that's approved, I'll make some wireframes of the different pages for approval.

Ok, here's another go at a homepage. Sorry it took a while, I was moving house.

My goal here is to get an overall approval on the visual design and then we can begin nailing down the content and needed pages.

I tried to take @DaftMonk's comments and make a simpler visual design:

Design

Color Palette

The color palette is simpler than the first go and influenced by the official Angular logo.

Thoughts about the different pages that may comprise rest of site

Docs

  • @dancancro mentioned having a link to his Google Doc that compares this generator to the other ones. In this design I've tried to solve that problem with the first section being "why this generator" while also including a link to the Google Doc.

I think that if there needs to be a more in depth comparison/description of features it should be on a different page dedicated to being explicit about the reasons this generator is a good one to go with. If another page is required it would be good to work with someone who can take lead on what the content should be.

  • Should the Docs include the exact same content as the ReadMe? @kingcody mentioned reusable components for generating the site. That makes sense to me. Maybe there's a way to automatically keep the site and the ReadMe in sync? Nevertheless, that's a discussion to be had after a resolution comes on the look and feel.

Contributing

I was thinking the content here would list the rules for contributing as well as any other places there might be "community activity." By this I mean Twitter, IRC, etc. Does any of that stuff exist?

Yeah, I was also wondering if there's an IRC channel?
I'm free to implement a site design if required.

@niallobrien I don't believe there is one, although that would be really nice! I'll check on something and see what I can find :)

I took the time to register #angular-fullstack on freenode and made sure freenode staff have full access, per their guidelines in case anything crazy happens.

If that works, I can make sure @DaftMonk and whomever else get op access as well.

@robertwalsh0 do you have a place where I can look at the designs?
