While Gitter looks pretty cool, I think it's better to have issues/questions/info reported so the record is kept and is searchable. Obviously, it'd be ideal if people followed the issue submission guidelines and obviously have done at least a little research beforehand.

You can use Google Groups messages. MEAN.io and MEAN.js use that. Or you can use a StackOverflow tag. generator-jhipster uses that. Both of these are searchable and would take less than five minutes to setup.
