What problem does this feature solve?

I will be updating node-ipc to Apache 2.0 license from DBAD. I want to make sure this makes things better for your users.

I am considering a full rewrite of the module to improve its integration with the underlying Socket objects as they have changed considerably over the past several years.

I would like to know if there is someone on your team I can talk to when I am ready to ensure safe migration. If needed I can also work on any issues in the vue-cli before publishing the new module on a branch of your choosing.

What does the proposed API look like?
