If we have a repository with a method that ends with StartsWith causes a problem with an empty result.

I have created a sample test case for reproducing

  • Run the unit test
  • Update the spring boot version from 2.6.4 to 2.6.5 and run again

Update:
Ok I've tracked the problem it's directly or indirectly related to hibernate-core dependency.

works with

    <dependency>
      <groupId>org.hibernate</groupId>
      <artifactId>hibernate-core</artifactId>
      <version>5.6.5.Final</version>
    </dependency>

but not: 5.6.6.Final
