I think this issue is related in some way with this other one: #5391 We may want to link to the sitemap of the subprojects instead of adding them into the root sitemap. |

I had a user request this recently, so supporting sitemaps for subprojects is probably a good next step. |
We would love to have this too, although if I had to choose, I'd rather see a solution or workaround for #11584 |
We should probably list this limitation in our documentation page https://docs.readthedocs.com/platform/stable/reference/sitemaps.html and recommend to take a look at https://sphinx-sitemap.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ which is a good candidate for those cases where the default/basic |
We currently list the public versions from the main project and its translations. But when we have subprojects, we serve them from the domain of the main project, so we need a way to make its versions visible to crawlers.
