My project has a _templates/layout.html template that gets used when I run make html locally, overriding the default Sphinx layout. But when I pointed readthedocs at my project, the theme gets ignored and a theme without enough room around its unordered lists gets used instead:

https://luca.readthedocs.org/en/latest/tally.html

How can I convince readthedocs to build my documentation exactly as Sphinx does when I run it locally?

Thanks for any help; I hope that there is nothing in the readthedocs documentation that I have missed!

Dupe of #152 -- it should use your theme's layout.html, but RTD uses our own, and Sphinx gives no way to inherit from multiple, other than the themes.

Oh, sorry about the duplicate — my search for some reason haven't brought that issue up. I'll pay attention over there; thanks!
