Image as Marker

is it possible to use external images as marker symbol?
it is usefull in some situations, like bubble charts which markers is image of the thing, or network charts that nodes contain images representing the node.

Problem with matplolib that I cannot save it as html, so I interesed in other framework but currently I do not see that plotly fit my requarments
