I am not sure where this belongs, either way, low low low priority.
It would be nice to have SOME kind of indication ( on IDE) which file is being edited when using multiple files.

Huh? When I start the IDE and open a multiple-file sketch, I get a row of tabs at the top, with the current on highlighted. Are you not getting this, or am I misunderstanding your question?

Sorry, I neglected to specify - when number of tabs exceeds the windows width.
And when you select the "tab" from menu than there is no indicator which is in use.
Actually - "standard" Windoze tab header has an additional arrow "button" to scroll the header when the number of tabs exceeds the windows width. But that button would be covered by the current "menu" selector.
