tried npm cache clear
tried deleting npm directory and start from scratch

I upgraded the node to 6.x, got fewer memory leak errors, but still not able to install angular-cli

had in the past angular-cli RC4

Same here. I was using version with RC4 on Windows 10 machine, then I needed to reinstall my system to Windows 7. I tried to install the angular-cli on the Windows 7 machine and on the newest Kali Linux, but it throws me the same error. It says:

Is it an issue with your package or am I doing something wrong?

Also, I did update graceful-fs, lodash, minimatch and tough-cookie, but when I install angular-cli it always says I need to update those packages (so I guess it's using the older once). Thanks in advance.

Actually after re-installing the system there were some errors, but it finally worked for me (as you can see in my previous comment). I tried to reinstall it on win 7 and nothing happend.

I'm not sure if angular-cli is using node-gyp, and I'm not able to check it right now, but you can try installing it.
Here is a StackOverflow question where you can find the steps how to install it's dependencies and node-gyp itself (first answer, very last update). It will probably still show you the emitter error, but atleast it might be able to install it from binary.

I uninstalled all Microsoft stuff + deleted all npm directory

I'm sorry but I don't think I can help you in this. I can't reproduce the errors you're having. They seem to be related to npm and your system somehow, and not to angular-cli itself.

Hi, I'm having a similar issue. Have searched a lot on the internet but have been unable to solve it.

I have tried:

npm install --global --production windows-build-tools followed by npm install --global node-gyp
Updating -g graceful-fs, minimatch and the other dependencies mentioned at the top after uninstalling angular-cli. then reinstalled but came across same errors.
